10 Days Kerala India Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Kochi (Gateway to Kerala)
Start Time: Flexible (Airport arrival)
Arrival at Cochi International Airport, where our driver will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel.
After check-in and rest, begin exploring the historic coastal district of Fort Kochi, one of the most charming areas in South India. Walk along the waterfront to see the famous Chinese Fishing Nets, a unique fishing method introduced by Chinese traders centuries ago.
Continue your visit to St. Francis Church, one of the oldest European churches in India, and walk through colorful colonial streets filled with cafés, art galleries, and antique shops.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kathakali cultural dance performance, one of Kerala’s most famous classical art forms.

Day 2 – Kochi Cultural City Tour
Start Time: 09:00 AM
After breakfast, start a full-day cultural tour of Kochi.
Visit Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace), known for its beautiful murals illustrating scenes from Hindu mythology.
Continue to the historic Jewish Synagogue located in the old Jewish quarter of Mattancherry. This synagogue dates back to the 16th century and is one of the oldest in India.
Explore the lively Spice Market, where traders sell spices such as pepper, cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon. Kerala has been a major center of the global spice trade for centuries.
Spend the evening exploring Fort Kochi’s artistic neighborhoods or enjoying local seafood restaurants.

Day 3 – Kochi to Munnar Hill Station
Start Time: 08:30 AM
After breakfast drive to Munnar, one of the most famous hill stations in South India.
The scenic journey passes through the beautiful Western Ghats mountains, offering views of waterfalls, spice plantations, tea gardens, and lush valleys.
Along the way stop at several viewpoints and waterfalls such as Cheeyappara Waterfalls and Valara Waterfalls.
Arrive in Munnar in the afternoon and check into your hotel surrounded by tea plantations and cool mountain air.
Evening free to relax or walk through local markets.

Day 4 – Munnar Tea Plantation Tour
Start Time: 09:00 AM
Today explore the stunning landscapes of Munnar, famous for its endless green tea plantations.
Visit Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, a rare mountain goat species found only in this region.
Continue to the Tea Museum, where visitors learn about the history of tea cultivation in Kerala and observe the tea processing methods.
Later visit Mattupetty Dam and Echo Point, two scenic locations surrounded by mountains and lakes.

Day 5 – Munnar to Thekkady (Wildlife Region)

After breakfast depart for Thekkady, home to the famous Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.
The drive takes you through beautiful countryside landscapes with plantations and forested hills.
Upon arrival visit a spice plantation, where local guides explain how spices such as cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg are grown and harvested.
Later explore the local markets of Thekkady where spices and handicrafts are sold.

Day 6 – Periyar Wildlife Experience
Start Time: 07:30 AM
Early morning enjoy a boat safari on Periyar Lake inside the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.
This peaceful boat ride offers excellent opportunities to observe wildlife such as elephants, deer, wild boar, monkeys, and many species of birds.
The surrounding forests are part of the Western Ghats biodiversity hotspot and contain many rare plant and animal species.
In the afternoon optional activities include nature walks, bamboo rafting, or visiting an elephant care center.

Day 7 – Thekkady to Alleppey Backwaters
Start Time: 08:30 AM
After breakfast drive to Alleppey (Alappuzha), the heart of Kerala’s famous backwaters.
Upon arrival board a traditional Kerala houseboat for an unforgettable cruise through the backwaters.
The houseboat slowly travels through canals, lagoons, and lakes surrounded by coconut trees and small villages.
During the cruise you will see local life along the water including fishermen, farmers working in rice fields, and villagers traveling by small boats.
Enjoy freshly prepared traditional Kerala meals on board.

Day 8 – Alleppey to Kovalam Beach
Start Time: 09:00 AM
After breakfast disembark from the houseboat and drive to Kovalam, one of Kerala’s most beautiful beach destinations.
The journey takes you along scenic coastal roads and villages.
Arrive in Kovalam and check into your beach resort.
Spend the afternoon relaxing on Lighthouse Beach, known for its golden sand and beautiful views of the Arabian Sea.

Day 9 – Kovalam Beach and Relaxation

The visit to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in Thekkady was another highlight. The boat ride on the lake allowed us to see birds and animals in their natural environment, which was very exciting.
was one of the most beautiful trips I’ve taken in India. Kerala truly deserves the name “God’s Own Country.” Every destination felt peaceful and full of natural beauty. Munnar was my favorite place during the trip. The green tea plantations covering the mountains look incredible, and the cool climate made it very comfortable to explore. The views from the hilltops were absolutely breathtaking. I also loved the houseboat experience in Alleppey. Cruising slowly through the backwaters and watching village life along the canals was very relaxing. This tour is perfect for anyone who loves nature and scenic landscapes.
This trip gave me a completely different view of India. Kerala is very green and peaceful compared with other places I visited before. The wildlife boat ride in Periyar was exciting because we saw elephants near the lake. The driver was always polite and drove carefully. Sometimes the travel between destinations felt a little long but the scenery made it worth it. Kovalam beach was beautiful and a perfect place to relax after many days of sightseeing.
I had mixed feelings about this tour and unfortunately several things did not meet my expectations. Kerala itself is beautiful and the landscapes in Munnar were impressive, but the overall organization of the tour could definitely be improved. Some days felt rushed while other days had too much idle time at the hotel. The drive from Kochi to Munnar took much longer than expected because of traffic and narrow mountain roads. I understand that this can happen but it was not really explained beforehand. The hotels were acceptable but clearly basic. One of the rooms in Thekkady had a weak shower and the hot water took a long time to work. Breakfast was sometimes repetitive with very limited choices. I also expected more guidance during some visits because the guide sometimes allowed us to walk around on our own without much explanation about the places we were seeing. The houseboat experience in Alleppey was peaceful but the cabin was smaller than expected and the air inside felt humid during the night. Transportation was generally safe but the vehicle could have been cleaner. I also felt the itinerary could include more cultural experiences instead of long driving hours between destinations. Kerala is a beautiful region but the tour management needs improvement to fully justify the price.
The wildlife sanctuary was interesting although we did not see as many animals as I expected. Our guide tried his best to explain everything and answer questions. Transport and hotels were comfortable but the schedule felt slightly busy on some days. Still a
Kerala surprised me with its diversity. Mountains, forests, rivers and beaches all in one tour. The highlight for me was the tea plantations in Munnar where the air was fresh and cool.
Amazing journey through Kerala. The landscapes in Munnar were absolutely breathtaking and the tea plantations looked like green carpets on the mountains. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and shared many stories about local culture. The houseboat in Alleppey was one of the most relaxing experiences of the entire trip. Food on the boat was simple but very fresh. The only small issue was that one of the hotel rooms in Thekkady was smaller than expected but still comfortable. Overall a wonderful tour with great organization.
Honestly I was disappointed with parts of this tour. Kerala is very beautiful but the itinerary felt rushed and some hotels were below the standard I expected for the price. The drive times were long and tiring and the schedule changed slightly during the trip which was confusing. The houseboat was interesting but the room felt quite small and humid at night.
