The destinations themselves are beautiful and historic. The Li River cruise in Guilin was very nice, and Shanghai at night looked impressive. However, the trip involved a lot of long transfers between cities, including flights and train rides. It sometimes felt more like traveling than enjoying the destinations. The guide in one of the cities also had limited English, which made it difficult to understand the history during the visits. China is a fascinating country and the locations are worth seeing, but the tour felt a bit tiring and could be better organized.
Disappointing Experience – Not What We Expected We booked the 10 Days China Tour covering Beijing, Xi’an, Guilin, and Shanghai, expecting a well-organized cultural experience, but unfortunately the trip didn’t live up to the description. While the destinations themselves are amazing the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Terracotta Warriors, Li River, and Shanghai skyline are truly incredible the overall tour organization was disappointing. The schedule felt rushed most of the time, with very little free time to actually enjoy the places we visited. Many attractions were crowded, and the tour guide often hurried the group along without giving enough time for photos or exploring. Hotel quality was also inconsistent. Some hotels were decent, but others were far from the city centers and not as comfortable as we expected for a tour of this price. Transportation between cities was tiring, and the coordination between transfers, flights, and train schedules sometimes felt chaotic. Another issue was communication. Some guides were knowledgeable, but others struggled with English, which made it harder to fully understand the historical and cultural significance of the places we visited. The itinerary itself is great on paper China is an incredible country with rich history and beautiful landscapes but the tour company needs to improve organization, pacing, and hotel selection to make the experience smoother. Overall, the destinations were unforgettable, but the tour execution could have been much better. I would recommend visiting these cities, but perhaps with a more flexible itinerary or a different tour operator.
